The blood of Jesus Christ that cleanses His people from all sin is referred to as “the blood of the everlasting covenant.” If I have a genuine interest in that one and only remedy for sin, the blood of the spotless Lamb of God, I’ll also have a genuine interest in “the everlasting covenant”. It is obvious that the blood of Jesus Christ has not removed the sins of all people, for some shall die in their sins and go to eternal torment. But there are some, who are just as sinful as those who will spend eternity in hell, who receive a full pardon from God Himself because the blood of Jesus Christ has removed every spot and stain. God forgives only those who were redeemed by the sin-atoning blood that Christ shed at Calvary 2,000 years ago. Who are they? Who was redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ? They are called God’s elect (Romans 8:38); Christ’s sheep (John 10:15); vessels of mercy (Romans 9:23). They were given to God the Son by God the Father in the covenant of grace before this world was ever created (Ephesians 1:3,4; John 17:2, 6, 9, 11, 12, 24; 2 Timothy 2:9). Jesus Christ, by Himself, purged the sins of God’s elect (Hebrews 1:3). Jesus Christ obtained eternal redemption for His people (Hebrews 9:12); By the sacrifice of Himself, Jesus Christ perfected forever those who were given to Him by God the Father, those He sanctified by His perfect obedience to the will of God (Hebrews 10:9 - 14). ARE YOU INTERESTED IN THE BLOOD OF THE EVERLASTING COVENANT? God’s people are! Those who are enlightened by God the Holy Spirit are! God the Father chose His people in Christ in the eternal covenant of grace. God the Son paid the redemption price in full by the shedding of His own precious blood, “THE BLOOD OF THE EVERLASTING COVENANT.” God the Holy Spirit takes the things of Christ and reveals them to the very same people who were chosen in Christ and redeemed by Christ (John 16:13 - 15; Hebrews 10:15 - 17). Show me a person who is genuinely interested in the blood of Jesus Christ, and I’ll show you a person who is genuinely interested in “THE BLOOD OF THE EVERLASTING COVENANT”.
