"Why do men and women blatantly refuse to turn from their wicked ways and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ?" Several reasons are given in God's Holy Word: They love darkness rather that light (John 3:19); They are blinded by Satan, and are under his wicked control (2 Cor. 4:3-4; Eph. 2:2) They are bound by their own cords of iniquity (Prov. 5:22); they are spiritually dead and cannot come to Christ unless God the Father draws them (Eph 2:1; John 6:44). But, there is another reason that is found in God's Holy Word that modern preachers also refuse to acknowledge. God does command all men everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30). But, Romans 8:7 says that "the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, NEITHER INDEED CAN BE." The natural man cannot obey the command of God to repent until the Lord Jesus Christ, in the person of the Holy Spirit, quickens (gives life) to the spiritually dead sinner. A dead man cannot obey any command. When God, in His infinite mercy and by His Sovereign Power, gives eternal life to His chosen, blood-bought child, then, and only then, can that predestinated vessel of sovereign mercy obey God's command to repent. That does not excuse those who openly show their hatred for God by refusing to turn from their wicked ways and refusing to bow down to God's exalted King, the Lord Jesus Christ. All must stand before the judgement seat of Christ as responsible human beings and give an account of what they have done. This is paradoxical but this exactly what God's Holy Word teahces. Those who refuse to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ will suffer the eternal wrath of God. Those who enter into the joy of the Lord will spend eternity praising their Wonderful Saviour for obtaining eternal redemption for them and for granting them repentance unto life.

Reader, have you repented? Are you trusting only in Jesus Christ and His redeeming blood? Or are you cling to your decision; your free-will; a repentance you conjured up. Give all diligence to make your calling and election sure. God will not share His glory with anyone, NOT EVEN YOU!"
