FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Galatians 6:8

FOOD FOR THOUGHT – "... whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. He that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting" (Galatians 6:8).

It is a fact that this passage of Holy Scripture has reference to all of Adam's posterity. But have you ever applied this to God's Holy Son, the Lord Jesus Christ? Our God became a man. Jesus Christ is the perfect man, the God-man (Romans 1:3 - 4; 1 Timothy 3:16). In the parable of the wheat and the tares (Matthew 13:37), Christ Jesus, the Son of man, is the Sower of the good seed. Not only did our Lord plant NOTHING but good seed, HE IS THE GOOD SEED!

Everything about the natural man is corrupt. The seed that was used to form us in our mother's womb was BAD SEED! Our mothers conceived us in sin; we were shapen in iniquity; we come forth from our mother's womb, as soon as we are born, going astray and speaking lies (Psalm 51:5; 58:3). Therefore, every seed we sow is to the flesh, and is bad seed. Those who are in the flesh CANNOT sow to the Spirit; CANNOT please God (Matthew 7:18; Romans 8:7 - 8).

Everything about our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, from the womb of the virgin Mary, to the last breath He took on Calvary's Cross, was PERFECT.Every seed He sowed was to the Spirit, and was acceptable in God's sight. Do you think our Lord will REAP A GOOD HARVEST? ABSOLUTELY!Our Saviour was the good seed that had to be buried in death, so that it could bring forth 'much fruit' (John 12:24). He brought us forth with Him when He came out of the grave and sat down on His throne in Heaven (Eph. 2:6). All of God's elect are ".. born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God which liveth and abideth for ever" (1 Peter 1:23). Because our Saviour has brought us forth as His beloved fruit, we now sow to the Spirit. And, by God's grace, all of us will be with Christ in glory, where we shall shine as the sun in the kingdom of God our Father, for the glory of His Darling Son.
