The Biblical term ‘as many as’ appears in several Scriptures to confirm many wonderful truths to God’s enlightened children. For example, Acts 13:48 says ‘as many as were ordained to eternal life believed’.Also, in John 17:2 we read that Jesus Christ gives ‘eternal life to as many as’ God the Father has given Him. In Acts 2:39 we see that the promise of God is unto ‘as many as the Lord our God shall call’. John 1:12 says ‘as many as’ receive Christ are given the power (the right; the privilege) to become the sons of God. In Revelation 3:19 our Lord Jesus said: ‘As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten’.The term ‘as many as’ limits the number. That limited number of people were made righteous by the perfect obedience of Jesus Christ (Romans 5:19). When Jesus Christ laid down His life, that same limited number of people were ransomed by Him (Matthew 20:28). Just in those few verses of Holy Scripture, we have these wonderful truths set before us: God’s Electing Grace, God’s Redeeming Grace, God’s Fetching Grace, God’s grace to receive Him and believe Him, God’s promise to give us His blessed assurance, knowing He cannot lie, and His grace to not despise His chastening hand, loving Him for loving us enough to care. Isn’t it wonderful to know that we’re one of the ‘as many as’ that God has set His love upon. Amazing grace, how sweet the sound’.
