HE REMOVED OUR TRANSGRESSIONS FROM US
Psalm 103:12

Gene Harmon

"As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us" (Psalm 103:12).

What a wonderful, divinely revealed truth: Jesus Christ our Saviour, by the supreme sacrifice of Himself, has removed ALL our transgressions so far from us that God remembers them against us no more. Where did our sins go? All of them were buried with our Substitute, and when He arose, our sins remained buried out of God's sight forever. Jesus Christ ".. was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification" (Romans 4:25).

Hebrews 1:3 tells us that Jesus Christ, by Himself, purged our sins. Isaiah 53:6 tells us that the iniquities of all of God's elect were laid on Christ. If they were laid on God's Son, they had to be removed from us. "Well", says one, "Isaiah doesn't use the word 'elect'." No, but the Apostle Paul did, in Romans 8:32 & 33, when he was moved by the same Spirit of God to pen these words: "He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up FOR US ALL, how shall he not with him also freely GIVE US all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of GOD'S ELECT? It is God that justifieth."

Brethren, "God is of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity (Habakkuk 1:13). When God the Father made His Son to be sin for us (2nd Cor. 5:21), He had to turn away from Him. He cannot look on iniquity and our iniquities were actually laid on Jesus Christ. I believe that's why our Saviour cried out "My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?" God's Darling Son really was made a curse for His people. Our Redeemer really did redeem us from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13). The very same Jesus, who bore ALL our iniquities, is now "Declared to be the Son of God with power (ALL POWER), according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead" (Romans 1:4).

Now consider this: Did Jesus Christ actually save His people? Or did He just make it possible for them to be saved? (Please read and ponder Matthew 1:21). I've often wondered how any enlightened child of God could actually believe that any for whom Christ died will not be with Him in glory? I challenge all of us to please answer this question honestly: Do I really believe on the Lord Jesus Christ according to the Scriptures
