Our Lord Jesus said, in John 3:7, "Ye must be born again". Then He declared the absolute sovereignty of God in the new birth by saying this: "The wind bloweth where it listeth (pleases), and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh; and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit" (Verse 8). No one can dictate to the wind. It blows when it pleases; where it pleases; as hard as it pleases – AND NO ONE CAN DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT! "So is every one that is born of the Spirit."Strange, isn't it? How multitudes of professing Christians can read those words, and blatantly deny them? Brethren, God has mercy on whom He will have mercy (Romans 9:15). He gives eternal life to His own chosen, blood-bought people, revealing Jesus Christ to them under the preaching of His gospel. God moves when He pleases, in His own appointed time; He moves where He pleases, in His own appointed places; and He moves upon whom He pleases; His own chosen people. AND ABSOLUTELY NO ONE CAN STOP HIM! (Read and ponder Daniel 4:35; Matthew 11:25-30). The doctrine of free-will not only denies the absolute sovereignty of God, all who believe such heresy are calling God a liar. Romans 9:16 says: "It is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy".Being "born again" is not a result of man's so called free-will, but according to God's sovereign will (Read John 1:10-13). Knowing that we were chosen in Christ by God the Father before time began; knowing that Jesus Christ was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification; that Jesus Christ is our Sovereign Lord Who rules and reigns over this whole universe and everything in it; can only be revealed and received by faith, by the Sovereign Power of God the Holy Spirit. "Ye MUST be born again."How dare anyone attempt to reduce this amazing miracle of God's sovereign grace to an act performed by spiritually dead sinners!
