The thought of being ‘without sin’ is overwhelmingly wonderful to think about, but difficult to even imagine. There is coming a day when ALL of God’s chosen, blood-bought children will NEVER AGAIN rebel in any way against our wonderful God. Because of God’s sovereign grace and sovereign mercy, freely bestowed upon us through Jesus Christ our Saviour, God will present us to Himself without spot or blemish. Right now, at this very moment, God sees us in Christ just as if we had never sinned. But, sad to say, all of us still do things we shouldn’t do, still entertain sinful thoughts. But Hebrews 9:28 says “.. Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” Jesus Christ bore the sins of many, those who were given to Him by God the Father (John 17:2). Our sins were imputed to Him. And God’s sword of divine justice smote His darling Son, putting away all the sins of His people from His sight forever. Jesus Christ, by Himself, purged our sins, removing them as far as the east is from the west, and God remembers them against us no more. Christ is coming again. And to “them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” Are you looking for Him? Diligently? Sincerely? All of God’s enlightened children long for that day when we will see our Saviour in all His glory. What a day to look forward to, when we will be in the presence of our risen, glorified King; so like our Saviour, who loved us and gave Himself for us, that for all eternity we will be with the redeemed family of God where there will not even be one evil thought amongst them. Hard to imagine, isn’t it?
