"WE SEE JESUS"!
Hebrews 2:9

Gene Harmon

"How do we see Jesus? We don't! Not in our unregenerate state. The natural man will see a Jesus of his own imagination, but until a sinner is quickened by the Holy Spirit, he will never see Jesus Christ as He is revealed in God's Holy Word. Why? Because every person who comes into this world is blind, spiritually, and cannot see the kingdom of God until he is born again (John 3:3). How do we see Jesus? We don't! Not until we see ourselves as dead spiritually as Lazarus was physically; when we realize that we have sinned against God and deserve nothing but His eternal wrath; when God breaks our old stubborn heart and causes us to grieve and mourn over our sinful rebellion against Him; when we are so burdened by the heavy weight of guilt and sin that we feel like we cannot go on unless we can find a way to be just with God, the Holy Spirit has prepared us to 'see Jesus'. When the Lord brings us under the preaching of the gospel, 'we see Jesus' as our Substitute . 'We see Jesus' as the One Who, by Himself, purged all our sins by laying down His life for us (John 10:15; Heb. 1:3; 10:14.) But that's not all. We not only 'see Jesus' as the One who redeemed us with His own precious blood, 'we see Jesus' as our Maker and our God, the Creator of the whole universe and everything in it. 'We see Jesus' as the God-man, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem those who were under the law. 'We see Jesus' as God in human flesh, walking on this earth in perfect obedience to God the Father, establishing a perfect righteousness for all those who were given to Him in the covenant of grace in eternity past. More, 'We see Jesus' as the One all the Old Testament prophets wrote about. 'We see Jesus' as the antitype of all those things which typified Him. Every animal sacrifice, every holy day, every high priest over Israel, every king on David's throne, and the list of types and shadows goes on and on. And 'we see Jesus' as the One who fulfilled them all. 'We see Jesus' as the antitype of all those things which typified Him. Every animal sacrifice, every holy day, every high priest over Israel, every king on David's throne, and the list of types and shadows goes on and on. And 'we see Jesus' as the One who fulfilled them all. 'We see Jesus' as our wisdom, our righteousness, our sanctification, and our redemption. 'We see Jesus' , by His death, conquering all our enemies, including Satan. 'We see Jesus' reconciling us to God by His death. 'We see Jesus' being raised from the dead for our justification. 'We see Jesus' seated at the right hand of The Majesty on high as our surety, our only Mediator, our great High Priest who ever lives to make intercession for us (Heb. 7:25.) 'We see Jesus' crowned with glory and honour, seated on His sovereign throne of power ruling and reigning over everything. Through the eye of faith, we see the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. In short, 'we see Jesus' as our all in all. One of these days, oh glorious endless day, faith will give way to sight and we will see Jesus Christ face to face in all His glory. But until then we, by faith, find perfect peace in our blessed Redeemer and keep 'looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.' We wait for His promised return with thankful hearts that He has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into His kingdom. With joy in our hearts and praise to our God, we sing with the song writer, 'Once I was blind, but now I can see.' Blessed are the eyes of God's enlightened saints, 'WE SEE JESUS'!"
