"To ask an unregenerate sinner to surrender his life over to Christ is a foolish request. Repent, and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ or you shall die in your sins." is what every sinner needs to be told.
Besides, our whole life apart from Christ is an abomination to God.
To attempt to surrender that over to the Spotless Lamb of God is an insult to His holiness. Come to the Lord Jesus Christ recognizing that you are a sinful, hell-deserving, bankrupt rebel with nothing to offer. Come to the Lord Jesus Christ mourning over your sins and failures, crying out for mercy from a Sovereign God who has mercy on whom He will. Come to the Lord Jesus Christ, seeing Him through the eye of faith as your Substitute, paying the price for all your sins when He suffered and bled and died on the cross at Calvary. Come to the Lord Jesus Christ, seeing Him through the eye of faith as the risen, exalted Son of God seated on His sovereign throne of power as King of kings and Lord of lords. Come in this manner and you'll receive from God Himself a full pardon and the promise of eternal life. Come in this manner and you'll know that you have passed from death unto life because of a love that you never had before - a love for Lord Jesus Christ, for His Word and for His people. Surrender this new life motivated by His eternal, immutable love for you. Faith which worketh by love is the believers rule of life. Crucify the flesh, and its lustful desires, and surrender yourself completely over to the Lord Jesus Christ, the One who purchased you with His own precious blood.
