NONE OF GOD'S PEOPLE ARE MERCENARIES! We do not serve our God for reward. We do not try to bribe God, or pay him off with a tithe. Yet, it should be known by all that no one can impoverish himself, or even diminish his possessions by generosity in the cause of Christ or to the people of God. Read Proverbs 3:9-10, Malachi 3:10-11, and Luke 6:38 right now! God always honors those who honor him. Tithing is the rule of law. Generosity is the rule of grace. God creates, loves, and honors generosity (II Cor. 9:6-7).
