LOOK TO CHRIST ALONE!

Jim Byrd

When I look at my sinfulness (how little I really see!), the roar of the law fills me with fear, my guilty conscience is smitten, and I know that I am not fit to be accepted by a holy God. However, when God's perfect Sacrifice is the Object of faith's view - that One who satisfied every demand of the law in my stead, then I can rejoice and draw near to God with no fear of being rejected. If Christ bore all my sins and made complete payment for them by His substitutionary death, then my indebtedness has been fully and irreversibly canceled. His sacrifice fully honored the law and appeased divine justice. My salvation, my assurance and my peace are all dependent on the blessed Savior and His work of redemption. He took my sin, and I no longer bear it – nor does He – for He cast it into the sea of forgetfulness. My soul delights in Him, and I enjoy a full pardon and a perfect standing with God all because of the obedience of the Redeemer.
