"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it; That He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish."Ephesians 5:25-27
A wrinkle implies aging. It is a mark of decay, and it reveals that which is less than perfect. Someday, as a result of the redemptive work of Christ, all of the redeemed shall stand in heaven's eternal glory without any wrinkles within or without. In that glorious day the saints of God shall be perfect, made beautiful in the imputed comeliness of our dear Savior. Then our souls will be completely conformed to the image of Christ, and our bodies will be free of every hint of sin. All the wrinkles of the past will be forever gone. In that day, the redeemed of God will be holy and without a single blemish. Did I say, in that day? Even today, at this very moment, the Father looks on every believer and sees us in His Son and, therefore, finds in us no wrinkle, no spot and no blemish. O how glorious is this salvation that is in Christ Jesus! Though vile, loathsome, and wretched by nature, in Him we are free from all wrinkles. "Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy Name" (Psalm 103:1).
