HE THAT HATH KNOWLEDGE SPARETH HIS WORDS
Proverbs 17:27-28

Jim Byrd

"He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit. Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding." –Proverbs 17:27-28

When I read the above verses, this short prayer arose in my heart. "Lord, teach me to restrain my words, to put a bridle on my mouth, never to say anything in a hasty, thoughtless way and when I do speak, may my words be glorifying to Thee and beneficial to that one to whom I speak." Paul said, "Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man" (Colossians 4:6).
