1. The opposition against true believers shall continue until the second coming of Christ. In that day there will be a resurrection of the just and the unjust. Those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life shall be raised to everlasting life, but the wicked will be raised to everlasting contempt, verses 1-4.
2. Daniel overhears an exchange between an angel and the Son of God. In response to the angel's question about how long before the end of time, the Lord answered that the end would not come until the elect of God were scattered throughout the world, verses 5-7.
3. The prophet asked for further understanding of the end times. Note the Lord's reply. He instructed His prophet "go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end" (verse 9). Many seek to know the unknowable. Child of God, there are some things which are closed to us. Rather than seek that which God has not revealed, let us occupy our time seeking to know more of our Savior Whom He has revealed! Let us worship and serve our God all the days of our lives. Like Daniel, we are assured that whenever the end comes, we will rest in glory and receive the inheritance given to us in Christ before the foundation of the world, verses 8-13.
