DUST TO DUST
Eccl. 12:7

Eccl. 12:7

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was ....

You might call this the musings of a man who has aged somewhat. Things are not as they were. Important events are not nearly so significant as they once were. It is easy for a young man or woman to get upset when they think their "rights" have been violated. Now the first thought is, "What difference does it make?" The dust is crumbling and soon "Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age." (Job 5:26). The "full age" is God's appointed time.

What is important? I would say the most desired state is to dwell in light. An old Chinese proverb goes thusly:

If there is light in the soul,
There will be beauty in the person.
If there is beauty in the person,
There will be harmony in the house.

I remember back yonder when only darkness prevailed. Now there is blessed light. When it was revealed to me that light was a Person, I began to learn. The Light of life shined in my heart when our Lord Jesus Christ said to me, "You shall have the light of life." (John 8:12).

In all the years since, there has been stumbling, and no doubt will be more, but now is the best time of this earthly walk. I said to one of our young men, "Now is the finest hour of my life." He seemed surprised, but in time he will remember and know the truth of that. Thank God Almighty I can view a beautiful sunset and really see the beauty of the Creator. Things are enjoyed as never before.

Come on, young people! In Christ the best is yet to come. My dear wife of 50 years and I are really living. In His light, we know the truth of what one said,

I asked for health, that I might do
great things.
I was given infirmity, that I might do
better things.

What a great life!
